POINT Fire and Weathertight Doors protect Hornsea

With many years of experience building doors and hatches for renewables projects, Point Marine demonstrated the capability and relevant experience to win its first Offshore Wind Farm order for Entrance Doors.

The units are manufactured in Hull by Point, incorporating their Lloyds certified Marine A60 Fire Door into the fabricated support assembly.

The A60 Fire Door is certified for international marine use in Shipping and Offshore applications. The Lloyds certification of the product secured the interest of their client, Wilton Engineering, who provided the fit out for the Hornsea Offshore 1 Transition Pieces.

Welding and traceability control, vital for the contract with stringent coded welding, inspection and documentation, is compliant to the Offshore Standard DNVGL-OS-C401.

In addition to the A60 Fire Doors, POINT MARINE also designs and builds watertight doors and hatches for sea and land flood defence in naval, industrial & commercial applications.
