Laser profiling to cut 4.2m long, 2.2m wide steel plate up to 25mm thick, stainless steel 15mm thick and aluminium 10mm thick. CNC Folding steel, aluminium and stainless steel up to 4m long. CNC Bending & Hydraulic Punching.

It is a complementary service our clients can combine with a range of others  we have available on site. Components and work pieces may flow through one or all our production departments. These include profiling, bending, machining, welding, fitting, finishing and installation. We are a true one stop option for customers with simple or complex steel, aluminium and stainless steel requirements for their business.” Jonathan Rollison (FD).

Point Engineering completed a £1.2m expansion and upgrade programme in January 2015, part funded by the Growing The Humber RGF grant scheme offered by the Humber LEP. In 12 months the company has added 6 new machines, more space and more staff to use the latest 3D programming and CNC technology.

Steve Norton (MD) said “We’ve succeeded in keeping production flow moving, while making changes, installing new equipment, replacing old machines and training people to be proficient in controlling and operating the new technology. It’s been an exciting and challenging year, and now we’re looking forward to 2015 with renewed energy and enthusiasm. All the equipment is fully operational and producing to customer specifications.”

New equipment includes:

Laser – Amada  4222, 4kw, 4.2 x 2.2 cutting area, with facility to cut 4No. 2×1 sheets in one set up.

Press Brake – Amada HFE II, 2204, 220 tonne, 4m long

Press Brake – Amada HFE II, 1703, 170 tonne, 3m long

Turning Centre – HAAS ST-30Y with live tooling to mill, tap and drill off centre.

Vertical Milling Centre – HAAS VF4
